Fiat Lux, & To reach near you have to travel far.

UC Berkeley's motto: Fiat Lux -Let there be light.

Happenings from day 1:
It's cloudy at arrival at SFO - one of those very few CA days (
and even rains a little), but hey, it's sunny CA and the sun breaks through the clouds and stays there for most of the afternoon.
Most of the people - colleagues and friends are happy to see me - that makes me feel even warmer.
I met FY riding the same BART from the airport, and am amazed - I met him yesterday in Nanjing
too , loong, long way from here and he said he was going to HK.. well, we just keep running into each other. Even the more wonderful thing is that he said "call me if you have any troubles."
As walking up the hill with a huge bag - an unknown man stopped his car and offered a ride up the hill.
My car is there - after more than 6 months leave, still parked on the street, and that is another of today's gifts or miracles, if you will.. (so is my bike's availability/presence..)
I learned recently that the greatest security is to learn to live without security - as Life is...
So, I did let life unfold for me - as per its own plans or gifts, if you will.. without "my" "own" plan, with the absence of much effort to fix even the basic and most challenging in CA - housing.. and What a Miracle.. I had several offers, and plenty of people concerned.. and was happily sleeping and even more happily waking up to the birds's songs and opening eyes to the one of the most amazing views - over the Bay.. at the house I truly adore..

I definitely really enjoyed reading this blog and viewing these images. Your one sentence 'I learned recently that the greatest security is to learn to live without security - as Life is...' really makes me think a lot about where I am, and where a lot of us are in this life. In fact this whole blog is a bit enlightened. A true maturity shines through here. I thought I'd leave this and let you know. I have never actually commented before, but keep it up.
