Colorado, UT - connecting with the ancients: Valley of the ancients (Hovenweep NM, Mesa Verde NP)

Mesa Verde NP, CO
there were 10,000 to 40,000 people living in the 4 corners area until about 700 years ago. That is a denser population than the area's now-a-days. Particularly the canyons which constitute the current Mesa Verde NP are fascinating for being the best preserved ever and containing a pueblo every about 1/4 mile.
