The Tao in everyday life

Didn't hear from a friend for ~ 2 months. Well, there's been a reason.
On a nice morning, out of the blue, she sold her successful business for nothing and went on travel..
To nice places she said, where people didn't know her and she didn't have to feel the (dis)comforts of being rich. All by herself, sometimes she slept in the car, sometimes - stayed at hotels while kept on moving about for .. 2 months. It would have been longer, she wished, but it got cold where the road led her - way, way up north (and knowing her, she perhaps didn't pack much), so she is back.. molding ideas what to do next with the firm belief she'd succeed at it again (at least not to end up hungry).

From our conversation.

"work hard to have something, then stick to it, work harder to have more and more and more..
well... felt didn't like the rules of the game
"
"you still work hard though, so what was the point??"
"
nooooooooooo, sold everything for 1 euro to my best friend"
"are you serious??"
"
yes"
"that is great!!"
"
why?"

Because this is The Tao...

"The Tao is like an empty container:
it can never be emptied and can never be filled.
Infinitely deep, it is the source of all things.
It dulls the sharp, unties the knotted,
shades the lighted, and unites all of creation with dust.

It is hidden but always present.
I don't know who gave birth to it.
It is older than the concept of God."

"If you want to possess something,
you must first give it away.
...

This is called the subtle understanding
of how things are meant to be."

"In loosing, much is gained,
and in gaining, much is lost."

"For those who practice not-doing,
everything will fall into place."

"When you have accomplished your goal simply walk away.
This is the pathway to Heaven."
by Lao-Tzu

PS:
"strange, am so happy to see you", she said.
